Delete your SailScore account

Use this page to request deletion of your SailScore account and associated account data.

How to delete your account in the app

If you can access your SailScore account, the fastest way to request account deletion is from inside the SailScore app:

  1. Open the SailScore app.
  2. Go to your Profile screen.
  3. Choose the account deletion option.
  4. Review the confirmation message and confirm your deletion request.

Account deletion may be blocked if your account is the only administrator for a club that other members still depend on. If that happens, contact us so we can help transfer club administration or review the request.

If you cannot access the app

You can also request deletion by emailing help@sailscore.app from the email address linked to your SailScore account. Please use the subject line “Delete my SailScore account”.

If you contact us from a different email address, we may ask for extra information to verify that you control the SailScore account before processing the request.

Data deleted when your account is deleted

When your account deletion request is processed, SailScore deletes or de-identifies:

  • Your SailScore account profile details, such as name and email address.
  • Your password or third-party sign-in records used to access SailScore.
  • Active sessions and authentication records associated with your account.
  • Your club membership records and role assignments, where deletion will not break club administration.
  • Personal app preferences and account-specific settings stored by SailScore.

Data that may be kept

Some information may be retained where it is needed to operate SailScore, preserve sporting records, meet legal obligations, protect the service, or resolve disputes. This may include:

  • Club, sailor, race, result, and race history records that form part of a club or regatta sporting record.
  • Records needed for security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, audit, legal, tax, or accounting purposes.
  • Aggregated or anonymised analytics that no longer identify your account.
  • Backup copies until they are overwritten as part of normal backup retention.

Where practical, we remove or de-identify personal account identifiers from retained records.

Processing and retention period

We aim to process account deletion requests within 30 days after receiving and verifying the request. Backup copies may remain for up to 90 days before they are overwritten in the normal backup cycle. Records we are required to keep for legal, security, dispute, tax, or accounting reasons may be retained for as long as required for those purposes.
